WOO-HOO

YES! We got our appointment to fingerprint at USCIS! This part of the process has been the most difficult to me. I wasn't sure if I did it right to begin with. And when I tried to call the USCIS in St. Louis, I could not get a human! When I finally did get to speak to someone, he had no idea what I was talking about. Never even heard of a I-700H form! I finally figured out to just mail everything in. Not an easy thing for me to pay that lump of money to people who HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!! But I did. Last week, we got a letter from them and I was so excited! I ripped it open hoping to find my appt time. Nope. What I found was a receipt for the money I sent them. Thank you very much. No appt. No letter. Just a receipt. I wondered if I just sent them a nice donation to help with the federal deficit. Who knows? Maybe I just endorsed one of the many presidential candidates. I wonder which one it was? But then, we got the letter!! Our appt is Monday @ 9:00am!!!!! YES! YES! YES! I am a structure girl. I like to know the time schedule. And this part of the process has none. Guess it is just one of those faith things that God has dealt with me about for the last, ummmm, 35 years. But I know that I know that I know that we will get fingerprinted at just the right moment, so that we will get our I-700H at just the right time, to get our dossier finished at just the right minute, to become DTC in just the right batch, to be logged in on just the right day, to be matched with just the right sweet baby that God has created to become our daughter, Sydney. I know.

Furry Friend

We had to go to town this afternoon to run some errands. On the way there we saw this beautiful deer. One of the benifits of having my new blog is that I have started carrying my camera with me everywhere. So the first thing I said was "Grab the camera!" Ashlyn took the first shot and then I stopped in the road and started snapping away out my window. I watched it slowly leave, but not before posing for me a bit.

Swimmin' with Poppy!

Last night, the boys came over to swim with Poppy! Jayden is old enough now to know what he wants. And, let me tell you, he wants to swim. He also wanted to drink the pool water (yuck!). Bryce is just a duck! He would stay in the pool all day long if we'd let him. He jumps off the edge and sticks his head under - he's not afraid at all! I peeked out at them after a bit, and they had Wrangler (our chocolate lab) in the pool with them! YUCK! YUCK! YUCK! It must be a guy thing!

Busy Memorial Weekend!!!

What would a holiday weekend be without fun time to play with family. This weekend, we took a trip down to Wayne's parent's and went fishing in their pond. Bryce (our 3 year old grandson) loved every minute of it. We also spent some time visiting the cemetaries of our family. We went to Greely and Myers Cemetaries and decorated graves. Afterwards we bar-b-qued at my parent's house. Jayden (our 1 year old grandson) had his first taste of watermelon. He grabbed my piece for a bite and then literally took it away from me! Then he finished off a second slice. He would have went for three, but we were a little afraid of the "after - effects"!

Wayne has spent a good part of the weekend working on our lawn mower. In his opinion, there is nothing more frustrating then a lawn mower that won't start! He fiddled and fiddled with it and then we went to town for a new part, and it still won't start. I looked out one time and he even had it hooked to my Tahoe with jumper cables! The end result: still no lawn mower and a very melted pair of jumper cables. He's thinkin' of having a bonfire tonight and torchin' the John Deere!
By the way, I FINALLY got my garden put out. It's really small and our harvest will be really late, but I still wanted to go ahead with it. It looks really sad compared to everyone else's, but it surely will look better in a few weeks. You may want to pray for it.

Wayne's Home!

Wayne finally came home! He made it in at 3:00am Tuesday morning! Ashlyn actually waited up for him. She really missed him. Of course, she slept in very late afterwards. There's just something about a girl and her Daddy!

Talk about summer in the country! This morning, Sarah and her friend, Lindsey (who slept over), decided to go for a swim. Then, of course, they wanted to ride the 4-wheeler. So, I assumed they would change back into their clothes. But no. I look out back to check on them, and they are cruizin' through the trail in their bikinis!! Too cute! I had to stop them for a picture. At least they were just in our field. Wayne used his bobcat to make a 4-wheeler trail in the field behind the house. That way they can ride and I can still see or hear them. Call me over protective, but I cannot just turn them loose to go all over the country!

School's Out! School's Out!

Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers for recovery. I am feeling much better now. I was feeling pretty down because Wayne is out of town on a job. He doesn't usually have to travel and he has been gone for 13 days!! This is the longest we have ever been away from each other in 16 years of marriage! He's hoping to return by Sunday or Monday. Anyway, the comments from my new bloggy buddies were very much appreciated.

Today was the last day of school for my girls. I love summer vacation! I love having the girls home & the much less hectic schedule. But let me tell you that the last couple weeks have been jam-packed! We have had 4 field trips, 3 awards ceremonies, a Play-Day, Senior Graduation (my youth group gradated 7 senniors BOO-HOO), and a Spring Concert. So we've been hoppin'! I welcome creating our own schedule for a bit. I've postd a fewphotos of some of our crazy end of the year activities!

Starting slowly

I am recovering from a cold today. It's a quiet morning. I am sitting in front of my fire! For a late May day, it's cold! The girls have left for school and I am loading up on cough syrup and coffee in hopes of being able to put out my vegetable garden this afternoon. But for now I'll just cuddle up in the blanket the girls made me for Christmas and relax. God is so good.
