Chirp Chirp

We received our I-800 approval on Friday!
WoooooooooooooooHoooooooooooooooo!

We should be sent to the NVC office on Tuesday.
Moving right along for sure.......

which means.......

let the nesting begin!

Oh doesn't this just scream SPRING!

I just have this huge urge to purge, scrub, organize, repaint, shampoo, air out, and basically

CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!

And the thing is, I cannot remember being this behind in my housework.  Now I will be the first one to admit, I am NOT the best housekeeper.  My mom is the queen of clean.  It is unhuman how clean her house stays.  It always has been and I have absolutely no idea how she does this.

We have been on the run so much that only the bare minimum has been attempted around here, and it shows.
A friend of mine, Patty, mentioned on her blog, after her 13 year old daughter from Luoyang came home, it made her look at how her family lives and does things in a whole new light.  When we adopt little ones, we are the normal they know.  When we adopt older kids, they come with many preconceived notions on how things are supposed to be done.  They have their own version of normal.

I cannot imagine what Abbey would think if she saw my house this morning.

I seriously have to get my butt in gear and catch up around here.

And I know just who is gonna pitch in.

Oh yeah!  With help like this, we can do ANYTHING!

If you don't hear from me in a while, it means that retaliation  for posting above pictures has occured.  Please send backup.

Rain

It's raining today. Actually it rained all night. It makes it harder to do things. Harder to go outside. Harder to run errands. Harder to drive. Harder to babysit. But at the same time, it is so peaceful. I have the lights off. The TVs off. All I hear is the sound of the rain that God is sending me. Rain is necessary in order for things to grow. Without rain, there would be no green. It would just be dirt. Without the rain, we would not have the beauty of this home away from home. Without rain, we would die. Hmm. Rain is sad yet peaceful. Melancholy. I believe that is the word. The sound of it is melancholy. I think that word describes me. I have always been a bit melancholy. I don't know why. Maybe because of my past. Maybe because of my poor decisions. Or maybe because God made me that way. I am where I am because God chose it. He made me who I am. He made me feel what I feel. He made me see what I see. He made today what it is. It's raining today.

Wayne has spent a good part of the weekend working on our lawn mower. In his opinion, there is nothing more frustrating then a lawn mower that won't start! He fiddled and fiddled with it and then we went to town for a new part, and it still won't start. I looked out one time and he even had it hooked to my Tahoe with jumper cables! The end result: still no lawn mower and a very melted pair of jumper cables. He's thinkin' of having a bonfire tonight and torchin' the John Deere!
