Have I seriously not posted since I left China? Have we really been home almost a month! In some ways it seems like we just got back, but on the other hands it feels like Sydney has been here forever. She is such a sweet baby. She is still adjusting. Sleep has been the biggest challenge for her. She really knows how to fight her sleep! She just does not want to ever sleep! I am not sure if she is afraid that we will be gone when she awakens or what. But let me tell you, a sleepy Sydney is not a happy Sydney. She has taken to a schedule that changes every 3 days or so. Just when I think I have her figured out, she totally changes. She is also still struggling with stuffd animals, dolls, or animals of any kind. She is very afraid of them all. She has made some progress with our chocolate lab, as long as he stays way away from her. On the flip side, she has learned to pucker up and give kisses. She even gives them without us asking for one. I will look down and she's all puckered up. So cute. I am so completely in love with this child. She has the most beautiful spirit and the most amazing eyes. I love everything about her even the challenging parts.
I will do my best to post more often, but life is a bit busy now. I have some great pics to share too.

Isn't it amazing how they are immediately our kids? Adoption is such a wonderful gift from God. I know what you mean about feeling like Sydney has always been with you. I look back at pictures of China and think...we we're really there? Wasn't Jaden always here? And yet, somehow I'm amazed that it's been 8 months already that he's been home.
